The parlor scene

Following the railroad brush with death, the mine car encounters an apparently sedate parlor scene on the right, featuring a fireplace with someone sitting in a rocking chair gazing at the logs. Suddenly the chair whips around to face the startled passengers, and thus is revealed the skeleton of an old lady wearing a blue dress. She still has her white hair, but no flesh-- just a bony, vacant stare. This effect was doubtlessly inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho," the classic film released a few years before Legend City first opened. The blue dress was courtesy of Dick Kraus' mother, and remained in use for many years! The mine car then exits into the outside world and the graveyard scene.
